So very proud of our Local Heroes...

Morning folks...yesterday was a very special day for the place I call home...Westhill...a small community 7 miles west of Aberdeen and we didn't care that the heavens opened with a torrential downpour at just the wrong moment...not when there's a crowd cheering...flag waving parade coming to town to welcome home our wonderful Olympic and Paralympic Heroes from the North East of Scotland.

we are so very proud of them all but especially our local lad Tim Baillie who won a Gold for Team GB in Canoeing...

It was a real bursting with pride lump in the throat tearful occasion for this silly old goat...in fact I felt a bit of a numptie standing next to Tim's Mum & Dad...they are so very proud of Tim's achievement but they were managing to hold it together...me I couldn't even speak to Tim's Mum Chris for emotion...how wonderful it was to see these true heroes take time time out to do a walk-about...chat to the kids...sign autographs and pose for photographs.

A very special day I will remember always....finished off perfectly with 90 minutes of Downton Abbey...
I'll be back later with my Sizzix makes to celebrate National Cupcake Week.
Hugs Kath xxx

Everyone looks so proud and estactic!

I am so jealous of you being able to watch Downton Abbey...we have to wait till January for the new season...don't think I am going to like Shirley McLean though!

  9. Lovely to see this kath. To be honest, I was surprised that we haven't seen a photo of the gold postbox for Tim Baillie, there's got to one in Westhill hasn't there?? I need to catch up with Series 2 of Downton Abbey first, looking forward to it though.

    Hugs
